At Hotel Los Lagos, mealtimes are a delicious mix of variety and culture! Our group enjoys most meals at the hotel’s restaurant, where there’s always something for everyone—from classic American favorites to flavorful traditional Costa Rican cuisine.

For a taste of the local scene, we’ll occasionally dine in town, giving participants the chance to experience authentic Costa Rican flavors and vibrant dining spots.

During our weekend excursion to Guanacaste, we’ll enjoy three meals a day at our hotel and carefully selected local restaurants, ensuring plenty of options for every diet and preference—so no matter what you’re craving, you’ll always find something delicious to enjoy!

Our Project Costa Rica staff is made up of passionate teachers, graduate students, and experienced leaders who are dedicated to fostering a meaningful, rewarding, and safe community service experience. They share a strong commitment to volunteering, mentorship, and cultural immersion, ensuring that every participant feels supported and inspired.

Rein Community Service staff members are always present at each service site, providing hands-on guidance and encouragement throughout the program. All staff undergo extensive professional training, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and leadership development. Each program leader is certified in Basic First Aid and CPR, and bilingual local volunteer coordinators work alongside our team to enhance the service experience and cultural connection.

With their support, knowledge, and enthusiasm, our staff helps make Project Costa Rica an unforgettable and transformational journey for every participant!

At Project Costa Rica, we prioritize safety, comfort, and reliability when it comes to getting around. Our participants travel in professionally driven buses and vans, ensuring smooth and secure transportation to volunteer projects, activities, and excursions. For longer journeys, we upgrade to spacious, air-conditioned coach buses, making travel between destinations as comfortable as possible.

To make your experience hassle-free, airport transfers to and from Juan Santamaria International Airport in San José are included—so from the moment you arrive, we’ve got your transportation covered!

At Project Costa Rica, we ensure that both participants and their families have peace of mind with 24/7 access to the Rein Communication Center throughout the program. Teenagers are welcome to bring their cell phones, and WiFi is available at various locations, including our hotel. While service may be limited in some remote areas, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to stay in touch with family and friends while fully immersing yourself in this incredible experience!
