Fire & Ice is the ultimate summer teen tour experience—an epic journey from the icy landscapes of Alaska to the tropical paradise of Hawaii! We kick off our adventure by jetting to San Francisco, where the excitement begins the moment we touch down. Hold on tight as we hop on the city’s famous cable cars. Stroll along the lively Fisherman’s Wharf, take in the jaw-dropping views from legendary Lombard Street, and enjoy a decadent treat at Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory.

The adventure continues as our summer teen tour travelers enjoy action-packed days water-skiing and tubing in Lake Tahoe. Next, we’ll visit the beautiful campus of the University of Oregon, take an outrageous Sandrail Dune Buggy Ride across the sand dunes of Oregon, and get our thrills on a jet boat trip down the Rogue River.

Next, your teen tour adventure heads to Seattle for visits to Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and the Museum of Pop Culture. From there we take in the sights of Vancouver and Whistler, including the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Granville, and a high-speed Zipline Canopy tour in the mountains.

After several power-packed days on the Pacific Coast, our teen tour flies to Alaska where we’ll enjoy the beauty, grandeur, and excitement of the 49th state. Our time in the “land of the midnight sun” includes Fairbanks, Denali National Park, and Anchorage. In Denali National Park and Fairbanks, we’ll raft the most popular whitewater river in Alaska, visit a dogsledding base camp, and find gold on our gold panning adventure. In Anchorage we’ll see glaciers and icebergs up close on our glacier boat trip, kayak on a stunning turquoise lake, reach new heights at the top of Mt. Alyeska, and tour a wildlife conservation center. During our time in Alaska, we’ll be mesmerized by the abundant beauty and wildlife all around us, including bear, moose, caribou, dall sheep, and whales.

Our Fire & Ice tour finally heads to the land of paradise as we jet to Maui to begin the Hawaiian leg of our summer teen tour adventure. A great day of snorkeling awaits us as our 65-foot catamaran sails to the Molokini Crater. We’ll enjoy a fun waterslide and superb snorkeling amongst colorful tropical fish and giant sea turtles.

A short jet flight brings us to the Big Island of Hawaii, where adventure and relaxation await! Settle into our incredible beachfront resort, the perfect spot to soak up the island’s sun and take in the stunning tropical scenery. We’ll explore the awe-inspiring landscapes of Volcanoes National Park, where lava-sculpted terrain meets lush rainforests. Then, kick off your shoes and feel the warmth of the island beneath your feet as we run barefoot along the striking Black Sand Beaches – a one-of-a-kind experience you’ll never forget!

The last five nights of your summer teen paradise are spent on the island of Oahu with two great hotel stops on both the North Shore and Waikiki Beach. Visit the Pearl Harbor Visitor’s Center and enjoy the view from the top of Diamond Head. Dive 100 feet below the ocean’s surface on our out-of-this-world Submarine Trip. Professional Surfing lessons on Waikiki Beach will make the final day of our summer teen tour unforgettable!

You’ll board our regularly scheduled jet for our flight home with your new teen tour friends and unbelievable memories of your summer teen tour adventure to the 49th and 50th states.

A Life-Changing Summer of Service, Culture, and Adventure

Imagine spending your summer giving back, immersing yourself in Hawaiian culture, and exploring some of the most breathtaking landscapes on Earth. Project Hawaii isn’t just a summer program—it’s an incredible journey of growth, discovery, and transformation.

Over the course of 14 or 20 unforgettable days, our high school participants will make a real impact, form deep connections, and experience the true spirit of Aloha while earning 45 or 60 hours of meaningful community service. By committing to the same service project throughout the program, each participant will develop a genuine bond with the people and communities they are helping. Whether working with children, protecting the environment, or supporting local initiatives, teens will gain valuable leadership skills, build confidence, and leave a lasting impact on those they serve.

Beyond Volunteering: A Deeper Connection to Hawaii

Project Hawaii is more than just a service trip—it’s an opportunity to fully embrace Hawaiian culture, traditions, and values. Through our cultural immersion program, participants will learn what it truly means to be part of an authentic Hawaiian community. Engage in traditional hula lessons, lei-making, and storytelling with local elders, gaining an appreciation for Hawaii’s deep-rooted history and its emphasis on respect, sustainability, and harmony with nature.

Project Hawaii is designed to foster strong connections, both within the group and with the communities we serve. With 20-25 participants, this program strikes the perfect balance between building lifelong friendships and engaging in meaningful service. Whether volunteering, exploring breathtaking Hawaiian landscapes, or enjoying evening activities, teens will form lasting bonds while immersing themselves in the experience. Each service project consists of 10-20 participants, allowing for a personalized, hands-on experience where teens can engage in small-group interactions, develop leadership skills, and make a lasting impact.
Accommodations
During the week, the DoubleTree Grand Naniloa Hotel is our home away from home, offering the perfect blend of comfort, relaxation, and breathtaking Hawaiian scenery. Nestled along the bay, the hotel is surrounded by towering banyan trees and just steps from the serene Liliuokalani Japanese Gardens, where tranquil pathways provide a peaceful retreat. With Mauna Kea standing majestically in the distance, our teens will wake up each morning to incredible island views.

All rooms are spacious doubles with private bathrooms, air-conditioning, and flat-screen TVs with cable. The hotel’s amenities ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay, including a swimming pool, fitness center, full-service restaurant, free WiFi, and a gift shop for souvenirs and essentials.

Each day begins and ends with delicious group meals at the hotel, with breakfast and dinner and enjoyed together, while lunch is provided at our various service projects. After volunteering, late afternoons offer a mix of relaxation and adventure. Some afternoons, participants can unwind by the pool, hit the gym, take a scenic walk along Liliuokalani Gardens, or connect with family and friends using the hotel’s WiFi. Other afternoons bring exciting local excursions, such as exploring Volcanoes National Park, visiting the local Farmers Market, and hiking through lush rainforests to breathtaking waterfalls. Evenings are filled with fun and cultural immersion, featuring authentic Hawaiian activities, movie nights, and special group events, making every moment of our stay in Hawaii truly unforgettable.

Meals
Throughout the week, our group enjoys breakfast and dinner together at our hotel’s restaurant, where a variety of options ensure that every participant finds something delicious and satisfying. Whether fueling up in the morning with fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs, or traditional island favorites, or winding down with a flavorful dinner after a fulfilling day, mealtimes provide the perfect opportunity to relax and connect with friends.
Lunch is provided at the various service projects, allowing participants to enjoy a meal while staying immersed in their volunteer work.
On weekends, we take our taste buds on an adventure, dining at local restaurants and food establishments near our hotels, giving everyone a chance to experience the diverse and vibrant flavors of Hawaiian cuisine. Occasionally, we divide into smaller groups, allowing teens the freedom to choose from a wider selection of restaurants, making every meal a fun and social experience!
Staff
Our dedicated and experienced staff are the heart of Project Hawaii, ensuring a meaningful, safe, and unforgettable summer for every participant. Our team is composed of teachers, graduate students, and professionals who are passionate about volunteering, cultural exploration, and mentorship. Each staff member is carefully selected for their leadership skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to creating an enriching environment where teenagers can learn, grow, and make a real impact.

Rein staff members are always present at each service project, providing guidance, encouragement, and support to ensure that every volunteer experience is both productive and rewarding. Our team attends comprehensive professional training workshops, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and positive group dynamics.

The well-being of our participants is our top priority. All staff members are certified in Basic First Aid and CPR, ensuring that our teenagers are in capable hands throughout the program. Whether leading a community project, coordinating a weekend adventure, or simply sharing stories at the end of the day, our staff is committed to making Project Hawaii an unforgettable and transformational experience!

Transportation
At Project Hawaii, we prioritize safe, comfortable, and reliable transportation to ensure our participants can focus on their volunteer work, adventures, and cultural experiences. Our group travels via professionally driven buses, ensuring smooth and efficient transfers to and from our service projects, afternoon activities, and weekend excursions.

With experienced drivers at the wheel, our participants can relax, enjoy the scenery, and bond with friends as we travel between breathtaking Hawaiian landscapes, from lush rainforests to pristine beaches. Whether heading to service sites, exploring local landmarks, or embarking on unforgettable weekend adventures, our transportation is designed for both convenience and safety, allowing for an effortless and exciting journey throughout the program.

Activities
After a fulfilling day of volunteering, our afternoons and evenings are packed with exciting activities, relaxation, and cultural experiences, ensuring the perfect balance between service, adventure, and fun.

Each afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to unwind and recharge—whether it’s relaxing by the hotel pool, walking or jogging along the scenic trails of Liliuokalani Japanese Gardens, or catching up with family and friends using the hotel’s WiFi. For those craving more adventure, we’ll head out on local excursions to explore Hawai‘i’s breathtaking natural wonders. Hike through the rainforest to discover stunning waterfalls, visit the iconic Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, and experience the raw beauty of Volcanoes National Park. A trip to the Farmers Market lets participants immerse themselves in local flavors, culture, and handmade crafts.

Evenings are just as exciting! Twice a week, our authentic Hawaiian cultural immersion program will introduce participants to traditional island customs, music, and dance. Other nights include a trip to the movies, Rein’s famous Minute to Win It competition, and other local events and activities that bring our group together for nonstop fun!

On our weekend excursions, the adventure continues with snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, catching waves with professional surf instructors, hiking the famous Diamond Head Crater, and paying tribute at Pearl Harbor. Each day offers a new way to explore, connect, and make unforgettable memories while embracing the true spirit of Hawai‘i!

Communication
At Rein, staying connected is important—both for our participants and their families. Our Rein Communication Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the program, ensuring that parents can reach us at any time for updates or assistance.

Teenagers are welcome to bring their cell phones, allowing them to stay in touch with family and friends during their free time. Additionally, the hotel lobby is equipped with WiFi, providing a convenient spot for participants to check messages, share their experiences, and connect with loved ones back home. While we encourage participants to be fully engaged in the program, we also recognize the importance of maintaining communication throughout this unforgettable journey.

Hawaiian Caper

Your unforgettable journey begins as we jet to Seattle, where the excitement kicks off with icebreakers and new friendships. In the Emerald City, we’ll soak up the energy of Pike Place Market, ride to the top of the Space Needle for breathtaking views, rock out at MoPOP (Museum of Pop Culture), and battle it out with friends in a high-energy game of Whirlyball—a wild mix of bumper cars, lacrosse, and basketball!

Next, we’re off to Oregon for two days packed with adventure! In Eugene, we’ll explore the stunning University of Oregon campus before speeding across the towering Oregon Dunes on an adrenaline-pumping Sandrail Dune Buggy Ride. Then, in Medford, we’ll take on the legendary Rogue River on a high-speed Jet Boat Adventure, zigzagging through rapids and getting completely soaked along the way!

The thrill continues as we make our way to Lake Tahoe, where you’ll spend your days tubing, wakeboarding, and water-skiing on the crystal-clear waters of the lake. Whether you’re racing across the water or just relaxing on the sandy beach, Lake Tahoe is pure summer magic!

Before heading to paradise, we have one last exciting stop – San Francisco! Hop aboard the cable cars as we cruise up and down the city’s famous hills, take in the buzz of Fisherman’s Wharf, stroll down the famously crooked Lombard Street, and indulge in legendary Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory ice cream sundaes!

Then, it’s off to Hawaii! Touch down in Maui, where we’ll stay at the stunning Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, a beachfront paradise with epic pools, breathtaking sunsets, and direct access to Ka’anapali Beach. Get ready for an unbelievable snorkeling adventure as our 65-foot catamaran sails to Molokini Crater, a marine sanctuary with crystal-clear waters and tropical fish. We’ll slide down the boat’s waterslide, enjoy a delicious lunch, and snorkel alongside giant sea turtles in one of the most famous spots in Hawaii!

Next, a short flight brings us to the Big Island, where we’ll explore Hawaii’s most mind-blowing landscapes. Stand on the edge of an active volcano at Volcanoes National Park, feel the heat from the steaming vents, and run barefoot across the otherworldly Black Sand Beaches – a truly unforgettable experience!

For the grand finale, we spend our last three nights in paradise on Oahu, staying at the incredible Hyatt Waikiki in Honolulu. Pay tribute to history at Pearl Harbor, climb to the top of Diamond Head for panoramic views, and dive 100 feet below the ocean’s surface on an out-of-this-world Submarine Adventure. Then, end your summer in true Hawaiian style with professional surfing lessons on the iconic Waikiki Beach—because what better way to wrap up an incredible trip than learning to surf in one of the most legendary surf spots on the planet?

As you board your flight home, you’ll leave with new lifelong friends, unbelievable memories, and the adventure of a lifetime – a summer you’ll never forget!
