Golf & Service @ Project California

21 & 28 Day Golf & Volunteer Program With Participants Living @ UC Santa Barbara

Golf & Community Service

Golf & Service, located at the University of California at Santa Barbara, accommodates up to sixteen teenagers and is part of the larger Rein Project California Community Service program.

Golf & Service is a unique opportunity to play several exciting golf courses throughout the Santa Barbara area and to receive hands-on instruction with our golf professional, while also earning community service credit (earn 24 or 32 hours of credit) by volunteering as a mentor at The First Tee program of Santa Barbara. The First Tee strives to teach young people values like integrity, respect, and perseverance through the game of golf.

Golf & Service is based at the Santa Barbara Golf Club, a well-manicured, impeccably maintained 18-hole regulation par-70 golf course. With sweeping views of the Santa Ynez foothills, Channel Islands, and the Pacific Ocean, this challenging course is 6,037 yards from the back tees. With a 1,000 square foot putting area, practice sand traps, and the latest in video technology, the Santa Barbara Golf Club is the perfect location for every golfer to improve his or her game.

Our golf program is directed by Doug Crane, a Class A PGA member and a fully accredited First Tee coach. Doug has run popular golf camps and clinics in Santa Barbara for the past 18 years. He was the golf professional at the Waikoloa Resort in Hawaii for a number of years before moving back to his hometown of Santa Barbara.
