Prague, Czech Republic

Our Eastern European Adventure begins as we jet to beautiful Prague in the Czech Republic.  Known as the “City of A Hundred Spires”, you can’t help but be enchanted by the fairytale features and bohemian allure of this medieval city.  From our hotel, the Hilton Old Town Prague, we are within walking distance of all the city has to offer.  Our journey begins by getting to know our fellow travelers as we explore the cobblestone streets, hidden courtyards, and ancient chapels during our Old Town Treasure Hunt.  We’ll check out the famous Astronomical Clock and stroll across the picturesque Charles Bridge on our way to the magnificent Prague Castle.  Wander around the castle’s courtyards, palaces, and gardens and admire the beauty of a place that has been the seat of Czech kings, emperors, and presidents for a thousand years!  Next, learn about Prague’s graffiti phenomenon and amazing street culture during our private Graffiti Workshop.  Under the guidance of professional graffiti artists, we’ll discuss creative ideas and get inspiration from local masterpieces as we create our own large-scale art piece on a local graffiti wall!  Get ready for spooky encounters during our Underground Tour.  Using special lamplights and paranormal activity detectors, we’ll see a different side of Prague as we follow our guide through the former dungeons and torture chambers under Old Town Square.     After a stop at the Lennon Wall, a symbol of freedom and resistance, we will hop aboard the funicular to the top of Petrin Hill for unparalleled views of the city.  No visit to Prague is complete without a visit to the well-preserved and history-rich Jewish Quarter, settled in the 12th century.  Until the Second World War, the quarter was home to generations of Jewish families, and where Jewish culture has been documented and maintained throughout the centuries.  We’ll tour the synagogues, museums, and cemeteries as we gain valuable insight into this important part of history.

Krakow, Poland

“Witamy w Krakow!” (Welcome to Krakow), the former royal capital of Poland, where the past and present are harmoniously blended into one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.  We’ll settle into the modern Mayera Rapaporta Hotel for our stay in this thousand-year old city.  Enjoy the street entertainers and delicious local delicacies as we stroll through Market Square, the largest town square in Europe.  Check out the otherworldly Wawel Castle, marvel at St. Mary’s Church, and take in the energetic Kazimierz District on our Evening Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride.  Get ready for a somber, emotional, and thought-provoking day as we take a guided tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest of the Nazi concentration camps.  It is estimated that 1.3 million people were sent to the camps at Auschwitz and Birkenau alone.  Today, much of the complex is preserved as a memorial to those who died during the Holocaust and as a museum to help visitors understand what happened, in the hopes that such a dark chapter in history never occurs again.

Vienna, Austria

Our next stop is Vienna, the Imperial City of Austria and the cultural capital of Europe.  Wander along narrow, medieval alleyways, marvel at the majestic architecture, and follow in the footsteps of emperors in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  We’ll check in to the Hilton Vienna Plaza, perfectly situated on the famous Ringstrasse.  Our first stop is the awe-inspiring Schonbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Habsburg empire.  Built in 1642, the palace is home to 1,441 decadent rooms, including the mirrored hall where Mozart first made music as a 6-year-old prodigy.  Next, we’ll make our way to Naschmarket, Vienna’s best-known food destination, where you will find over 120 food stalls and eateries.  Enjoy everything from Viennese to Italian to Greek – it’s your choice!  Get ready for a night of fun and excitement at Prater Amusement Park, Austria’s oldest thrill park and home to the iconic Giant Ferris Wheel.  The adrenaline will be pumping on rides such as Black Mamba, Ghost Train, Joker, and Boomerang!  After a stroll through Hofburg Palace we’ll make our way to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, towering high above the streets of the Inner Stadt.  Climb the 343 steps to the top of the South Tower for beautiful, unparalleled views.  We'll take a trip to the local market to pick up the tasty ingredients for our Viennese Cooking Class.  Learn about Austria’s rich, culinary heritage as you learn how to make delicious local delicacies.

Budapest, Hungary

Known as “The Queen of the Danube”, Budapest has something for everyone – from dramatic history and flamboyant architecture to healing thermal waters and vibrant neighborhoods.  Our home for the next three days is the InterContinental Budapest, perfectly located on the banks of the Danube River and offering incomparable views of the magnificent Buda Castle.  There is no better way to explore the sites than zipping through town on our exciting MonsteRoller Tour!  Hop on your e-scooter and follow your guide to beautiful Margit Island, cruise over the famous Chain Bridge, and make your way up Gellert Hill for breathtaking views of the city below.  Spend an evening relaxing at the famous Szechenyi Thermal Baths, one of the largest spas in Europe with 15 indoor thermal pools, 3 grand outdoor pools, and 10 saunas and steam rooms.  Next, enter a labyrinthine world of natural corridors and chambers and marvel at the stalactites and stalagmites as we go Caving Under Budapest!  There are more than 200 caves under Budapest, created by hot water rushing up from deep underground.  Next up is the beautiful Castle District, full of quaint streets, colorful buildings, and amazing views.  Stroll through Buda Castle, climb to the top of Fisherman’s Bastion, and check out St. Mathias Church.  We’ll visit Dohany Synagogue, the second largest active synagogue in the world on our walking tour of the vibrant and happening Jewish District.  Our next stop is the bustling Central Market Hall, where you can try delicious local delicacies such as langos, palacsinta, and goulash.  Stroll through Heroes’ Square and check out Vajdahunyad Castle on our way to an extraordinary theatrical performance at the famous Capital Circus.  We’ll complete our stay with an evening of music and folklore dancing during our Danube River Cruise.

Lake Bled, Slovenia

With an emerald lake surrounded by Alpine peaks, a gothic church nestled in a tiny island at its center, and a medieval castle looming above from its rocky perch, Lake Bled is Slovenia’s most gorgeous destination and a magnet for adventure seekers from around the world.  Stroll along the promenade, swim in the heated indoor pools, and check out the beautiful views of the Julian Alps from our lakeside lodging, Hotel Park.  Get ready for the adrenaline to flow during our incredible Canyoning Adventure.  Imagine hiking through untouched nature and descending into a pristine canyon, sliding down natural waterslides, and jumping from refreshing waterfalls!  The adventure continues during our exhilarating Zip-Line tour through the magnificent valley of the Sava Dolinka River.  You won’t believe the stunning views as you ride seven thrilling zipline cables, crossing over unspoiled forests, wetlands, and rivers.  Next, we’ll take the chairlift to the top of Straza Hill for an afternoon of exciting Alpine Sliding.  No stop to Slovenia is complete without a visit to the imposing Bled Castle, a magnificent 11th-century medieval castle sitting at the very top of a precipice high above the lake and village.  Grab your cameras for photos of you and your new friends from this postcard-perfect destination.

Zagreb and Plitvice National Park, Croatia

The excitement builds as we head to one of the hottest destinations in the world, Croatia!  Our first stop is the lively capital city, Zagreb.  After a good night’s sleep at the modern and comfortable DoubleTree by Hilton, we head to one of Europe’s most breathtaking natural wonders – Plitvice Lakes National ParkYour first glimpse of this ancient landscape is down a 300-foot cliff into the green canyon - waterfalls, pools, and streams glistening below.  We’ll hike past beautiful crystal-clear lakes, gurgling streams, and cascading waterfalls.  You can’t help but to be mesmerized as the color of the water changes from emerald to cobalt to sapphire.  No visit to Croatia is complete without a visit to this otherworldly slice of nature.

Split, Croatia

Our next stop is sensational Split, the hub of the dazzling Dalmatian Coast, with a bustling urban vibe, people-filled seaside promenade, and neighborhoods carved out of a massive Roman palace.  Enjoy the good life at the Radisson Blu Resort Split, overlooking the clear blue waters of the Adriatic Sea.  You’ll spend time relaxing at the seaside pools and chilling at the resort’s beautiful beach.  Get ready for thrills during our Cetina River White-Water Rafting adventure!  In between running the awesome rapids, this idyllic river is filled with peaceful green pools perfect for swimming, splashing, and relaxing in perfect natural surroundings.  We’ll spend an evening along the vibrant Split Waterfront, enjoying the street entertainers and sampling some of Croatia’s delicious local delicacies.  Stroll through the passageways and courtyards at the heart of Split, Diocletian’s Palace, one of the most impressive Roman structures still in existence today.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

We'll take in the awe-inspiring views during our drive down the coast to delightful Dubrovnik, the beloved "Pearl of the Adriatic".  Home to a giant walled old town, great beaches, a stunning mountaintop viewpoint, and a well-earned reputation as Croatia's most incredible destination, there is no better place to end our amazing journey through Europe. Enjoy a sensational seafront setting overlooking Lapad Beach and the blue-green Adriatic Sea at Hotel Kompas, our home for our final three nights.  Spend time wandering through the cobblestone alleys, courtyards, and squares of Old Town, one of the most perfectly preserved medieval cities in the world.  Check out the views as we walk along the storied Dubrovnik City Walls.  Surrounding the red-tiled roofs of the old town to protect the city from pirates and other unwelcome guests, these enormous walls are dotted by ancient forts, bastions, and towers.  Get ready for an epic day of Island-Hopping through the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea, docking at three of the most beautiful islands – Koločep, Lopud, and Šipan.  Explore tiny seaside villages, ancient churches, and beautiful beaches during this unforgettable day.  Grab your paddle for an awesome Kayak Adventure.  Departing from underneath the city walls of the old town, we'll paddle along the delightful Dubrovnik coastline to nearby Lokrum Island.  We'll ride the Dubrovnik Cable Car to the top of Mt. Srdj for gorgeous sunset views as we prepare to say goodbye to our new friends and our unforgettable adventure of a lifetime.
