Volunteer at First Tee

Earn community service credit (24 or 32 hours) by volunteering as a mentor at the First Tee program of Santa Barbara. The First Tee strives to teach young people values like integrity, respect, and perseverance through the game of golf.

Through The First Tee experience, youths participating in the program learn valuable lessons and life skills, including: the importance of maintaining a positive attitude; how to make decisions by thinking about the possible consequences; and how to define and set goals. In addition, and of central importance to the program, the young participants are taught how values such as honesty, integrity, responsibility, respect, confidence, judgment, perseverance, courtesy and sportsmanship apply to every day life. The First Tee program not only provides lessons that have a lasting positive influence on the character and lives of the youth, but also educates and motivates them to become responsible and productive members of their community.
